Why buy a cumbersome fly fishing guidebook when all that information is on the internet? Why purchase something that is just going to be out of date in a few seasons anyway?
Today I share why fly fishing guidebooks are not only helpful, but important to anglers. There is indeed a wealth of access and “tips & tricks” content online, but has it passed under the eye of an editor? Is there more than pragmatic data, such as historical details? This is why guidebooks matter. And whether they be regional or river-specific, they all have a role to play.
Furthermore, they deserve a spot on your bookshelf.
