Most Fridays on Casting Across are devoted to other people’s contributions in the fly fishing community. Articles, pictures, social media accounts, videos, podcasts, products, and more will be featured on The Last Cast of the Week.
Today, I’m sharing items from Trout & Feather, Windknots & Tangled Lines, and Small Stream Reflections

There are a lot of fly tying resources and tutorials on the internet. In fact, there are so many that you might find it easier to just find something that works and settle in before you find something good. Trout and Feather is good. There is a quantity of patterns and a quality in the videos that set this site and Tim’s work apart. If you’re a beginner, novice, or expert tyer, subscribe to Trout and Feather on YouTube and make visiting the site a part of your routine.
I’ll be mentioning Windknots and Tangled Lines a bit more in the near future, as Howard was very helpful after my acquisition of a new piece of fly fishing gear/memorabilia. In the meantime, head over to his site for a classic example of a fly fishing blog. He mixes up his personal experiences with insight on old gear with keeping his pulse on the fly fishing blogging community.
I stumbled across Small Stream Reflections and immediately realized that I had found someone with very similar interests: brook trout, small streams, and meat. Really – there were grilling pictures that popped up after only a few minutes of browsing. “Brk Trt” takes you along for the entire fly fishing experience: the drive, the angling, and the meal afterwards. And there are pictures of everything.
