Thanks for reading and listening. And an extra thanks for those who get in touch.
This week I push back on some people who pushed back on an article I wrote about topics of conversation while fly fishing. What is appropriate? Read, listen, and you decide. Also, I relive some more harrowing wildlife encounters. Lastly, I get my accusations going. I critique a seemingly nonsensical social media complaint that I see from time to time in fly fishing circles.

One of the things I always loved about fishing with Daddy was the topics of our conversations. I learned so much about habitat (not only of the fish but of every animal we might encounter), ecology, conservation, entomology, life skills (many of which I would apply to my career in the military), and a lot about life in general. I was privileged to listen to some of the greats (Vince, Charlie, Ed Koch, Joe Humphries) and cherish those moments. Of course there are things as an adult I wished we had talked about and now will never have the opportunity. Blessings on you and your family in this holiday season and Merry Christmas!
Thanks, Stephen!
When I was younger, I only wanted to talk about fishing. These days, I wish I would have asked more about life.
A coincidence to hear you talking about snow in northern VA…as I sit at home in nova after yesterday’s snow. Thanks for all of the great podcasts!
Thanks, Glen! Enjoy the winter.
