Risen Fly – YouTube Contests

If you want quality fly fishing gear at a reasonable price, Risen Fly Fishing is one of your best options. I use a variety of Risen Fly gear, including rods, reels, and boxes. They plan on adding a lot more content to their YouTube channel, and are promising regular giveaways for those who comment on their videos. This past week they gave away a briefcase box. Check out the channel and subscribe to know when and what you can win.

Cheeky –  10 Year Retrospective

Stories of people, places, and things are one of the best things about fly fishing to me. Cheeky tells their story, the story of their first 10 years, in this post. It is undeniable that Cheeky reels have had a colorful impact in the industry. This is a fun read, showing the work and creativity that is necessary to get a dream off the ground and turn it into a success.

CBS News / Soul River – The Healing Power of Fly Fishing

When the mainstream media covers fly fishing, it is always worth a look. This isn’t some piece on how to fish or where to fish, rather it explores someone who is using fly fishing. Chad Brown is using Soul River to help veterans, urban teens, and more. Check out the video for some real good stuff. Oh, and Brown hooks a fish on camera – which is a remarkable feat unto itself!
