A Cold, Gray, & Slushy Friday in New England

Fridays in January aren’t usually too exciting in New England when it comes to fly fishing. Here is a quick snapshot of the weather: cold, gray, and slushy. Would today be a day where I could find tailwater trout and panfish through the ice? Absolutely. Is today a great day to be at The Fly Fishing Show in Marlborough, Mass? Absolutely x 2.

Needless to say, I’ll be at The Fly Fishing Show in Marlborough, Mass.

My to-do list includes the following:

  • See some fly fishing friends and acquaintances
  • Check out a few tying demonstrations and seminars
  • Begin “the great wading boot hunt of 2018”
  • Set up  one guided trip / lodge stay
  • Do whatever the fly fishing version of networking is, for  website content purposes

And *drumroll* I’ve got Casting Across stickers to give away.

That’s right, stickers. The Bitcoin of fly fishing. The adhesive scraps of paper that make the industry go ’round.

If you see me (beard, Vedavoo sling, probably a flannel – as one does), I’d be happy to meet you and give you one!

If you’re not going to be there, be sure to follow me on social media for some stuff that won’t necessarily make the website. Pictures will go up on Instagram, and, through the magic of the internet, should automatically replicate themselves on Facebook and Twitter.

Lastly, I will be in Edison, New Jersey next Friday and Saturday. If you plan to be there, I’ll have some stickers available then as well. More importantly, it would be great if I got a chance to say hello and thank you.

On an unrelated note, I heard back from Steve and Dave. They are the two guys of 2 Guys and a River. You may recall that I wrote an open letter encouraging them to venture eastward for some fishing fun. Check out their response here. I don’t think that this is the end of the correspondence…
